Eight of Cups…
I always pull a card before I set out on a race (don’t be impressed - my specialty is 5k and will only run up to 4 miles in a race - I am of a certain age, after all). The race was today -the question for my deck is always the same, “what will help me make it through this race?” Honestly, I woke up feeling especially vulnerable - I’m running slower than usual and I didn’t get a good night’s sleep - so in my mind, just getting to the finish line at a slow walk would be enough. I pulled the Eight of Cups and was a bit perplexed - I mean it’s a little heavy of a concept for just 3 miles. But, then I realized my deck was asking me to run away from negativity and toward something better. I suddenly understood this was a kind of magical metaphor wish that my deck was making on my behalf. So, I put it into practice - I loaded up a positive playlist, I enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee, I put on a powerful red shirt and prepared myself for the spell I was about to cast. Just keep moving toward light and hope - leave the bad stuff in the dust. I imagined along the way all of the Sh@$ of my existence trailing behind and getting lost - I saw the potential for greater things ahead of me at every turn. Honestly, the run became transformative and strengthening. I felt the full power of resilience and I hit a 10 minute mile…which has eluded me for sometime. All this to say, use your cards to make magic in your own life - keep moving forward in the direction of possibility! Happy Saturday. xo
