This is a repeat card for us today, but the message feels a little different. It’s clear that this card is and has always been about mastery of a craft - hardwork paying off. If you are like me, you have probably been doing a fair amount of “self-work” during this “Quarantime”. I picked this rendering of the card because children are doing “self-work” everyday, freely and openly, without even recognizing it. Each skip, each song, each craft, each playdate, each trip to the playground is, for them, one step closer to fully realizing who they are and how they choose to be in the world. They don’t know this - they just dive in and experience these growth spurts with an open heart. As adults, we have clouded all of this with doubt, fear, negativity, past experiences gone awry etc. Every “No” we have heard along the way can stick to us like the glue we once used to add glitter to that art project on the fridge. Today I want you to acknowledge that the work you have been doing for self or others is much needed and approach the continuation of that work with the heart of a child. Maybe even pull out that coloring book - why not?
