I asked the question of my deck today, “What do we need to focus on in 2024?” and I received a very big response - The Wheel of Fate/Fortune (Reversed). I hope, my friends, you are getting ready to shake things up this year, because change is on the agenda! Start thinking now of how you can disrupt your normal routines and approach your goals very differently than you normally would. Let’s face it, what was not working for you in 2023 needs a big overhaul and what was working for you could even still benefit from a divergent approach or it may go stale. Also, it may be our year to embrace our most defiant instincts when we see or experience something that does not seem equitable. This year, don’t just settle for what society deems acceptable. I see you - making resolutions, preparing for the new year ahead and I applaud you for forward thinking. After yesterday’s post about planning ahead for better financial well being in the New Year, you thought you were off the hook, since I’m only posting now. But, the truth is these three cards flew out of the deck this morning when I asked about this issue and I got to work right away - diligently reviewing this year’s expenses and readying myself for Tax Season early (sigh). No fun. What have you done today to prepare for a better strategy in 2024? If you haven’t done anything, no worries - there’s still a few hours left in the night! Here goes, we are moving forward toward greater clarity, but feel undoubtedly haunted by the past when it comes to our finances. This past year, we’ve let our money flow inhibit our creative spark - we’ve spent far too much on the wrong things and we’ve had a bad attitude about the amount coming in. This year, we can learn from these past mistakes. Take this time to look back as you move forward. The real magic of financial intelligence, is that it can increase your ability to enjoy the emotional wealth of togetherness with the people that will inspire your creative spirit. This is the aim going forward. As you look back, take note of your biggest mistakes in spending. Make a list of what you vow to change in the year ahead based on these missteps - maybe just 3 things to keep it simple (seems like 3 is the magic number here). Post this list in in a place where it can remind you to make better choices on a daily basis. Then, ready yourself for financial, creative and emotional abundance. I’m making my list tonight…you should too!!!

Here’s a fun exercise for you on how to use the cards to create action and change in your life!!! So we pulled the Nine of Swords today, which is a card that can fill anyone with dread. However, instead of letting our worries conquer us, let’s use this card to reclaim our sense of self-determination. As we approach the New Year, we often make a list of resolutions, but today let’s jot down a list of our greatest fears and worries. I know this sounds anxiety inducing, but bear with me! Nine worries that you no longer want to rule your life - get them on paper. Then, below each worry you have listed, jot down two or three small actions you can take toward defeating that worry. Then, below that action - name a song - one song that will inspire you to take that action. Now, you have not only a plan of attack, but a 2024 playlist to go with it. Anytime one of these dark thoughts appear to you in the New Year, refer to your list. If you find yourself feeling so overwhelmed that you can’t take action, just play your song. Be ready free your mind of fear in 2024!

Eight is a number we need to honor this week - two in a row! Securing everlasting balance and harmonious flow must be on the agenda. When work piles up and piles on, we often feel we have to adhere to deadlines (both personal and external) and we will frantically begin acting upon our to-do list to see just how much we can get done. Sometimes this is called for, but today it’s all about attention to detail. Recognize that the time, care and devotion you put in now toward the smaller points, will create a final product that requires less correction. Figure out ways of working smarter not harder toward those end goals. Take your time to create and refine the tiny details as you go. You may feel the pressure, but it will pay off in the end. The Eight of Cups…

A dear, dear friend of mine gifted me with a Golden Girls Tarot Deck and I am just tickled by it! So, I pulled the card of the week from this deck to reveal Rose walking away under the palm trees of Florida. It made me think about the New Year approaching which gives us all an excellent opportunity to leave behind that which is no longer serving us. This week ask yourself the tough question, “What must I leave behind as I step into 2024?” It could be unfinished business that you don’t have space to finish or opportunities that seemed enchanting in 2023, but will never fulfill you in the New Year. Maybe, there are some people who no longer fit into your life as you had hoped they would? Or, perhaps, there are personal behaviors that once served you but you now hope to shed? Whatever it is, get specific and get ready to turn around and leave them in the distance as you venture into the great unknown of 2024…
